Trade Plan

Plan: Relatively flat open. Will be opening around previous close. QQQ has a tight range.

Result: Went with QQQ 503 calls on the first pullback for a nice trade. I made a mistake and did a purchase where I should have sold, corrected in right away. Didn’t really affect the outcome. Second trade was on SPY 593 calls on pullbacks, nice practice of smaller size here.

Trade Plan

Plan: Nice gap up this morning, right into gaps on both markets. Because of that, short levels are moved up. SPY i like a pop into 597 area for a short, previous close on a dip for a long. QQQ has a gap fill at 508.69 for a short, previous close for a long. Moving averages will likely be the starting point for the longs.

Result: Another day of large ranges for the morning session. I started with SPY 590 calls, giving it room to run, nice average and pay out for a fantastic trade. This first trade ripped right through support, but I knew I had protection and added to strategy. I hit SPY 588 calls later and nailed this one too. Third trade came with more distance again, back up to test moving averages and previous close from the underside. For this, QQQ 503 puts lined up, and paid out nicely on first reaction.

Trade Plan

Plan: Nice steady push on the markets yesterday, right into moving averages. Test of moving averages didn’t happen until afternoon session. I would really like an opportunity for calls at the previous close today for a day two continuation (hitting calls on the second green day after a dip), but I need some proper distance at the open. If we fail previous close, I like 500 area on QQQ. Gaps and trend above for the short on both markets.

Result: A full retracement of yesterday’s action. I started with QQQ 500 calls, I started too early, a habit that has cost me before. What should have been a nice trade, I was red on. Not my best work here. I waited for continued sell off, spotted opportunity and took SPY 585 calls for another try. Emotion got the best of me here too. While I still managed to make this trade work and get a nice green trade, I did not manage this one very well. I could feel the emotion of the first loss affecting me. Lots to still work on in this journey of trading!

Third trade came on stalking SPY for another opportunity. Worked SPY 585 calls (2) a second time for a nice stalk trade.

Trade Plan

Plan: A steady sell off since 8:00. SPY is very interesting at 580 gap fill and lower at 576.74. QQQ has a gap at 492, with the 50 ma just outside of risk. Plenty of distance into previous close for a short.

Result: First move was up this morning following a strong bounce in premarket. I started with QQQ 501 puts for a nice first reaction. I flipped to QQQ 496 calls as we approached morning lows, another first reaction here. Not close enough to either level for either trade to put in some size, but good execution and discipline on targets.

Trade Plan

Plan: Small gap up this premarket. Previous close first level of support, have more distance on QQQ for that one. Gaps lower to fill if we slip lower today. Moving averages for a first test is what I like on the short side this morning.

Result: Dip out of the gate gets me involved in calls to plan. I liked QQQ long better in premarket, that’s what I stuck with. Took QQQ 496 calls for a fantastic first reaction. Starter size for a nice full payout. Nice way to start the week! QQQ then broke lows and I started on QQQ 495 calls. Same trade plan, different strike was intentional. Another base hit here, great work of averaging and snagging another pivot. Great morning!
